Cancer is a genetic disease caused by change (mutation) in the DNA of a normal cell, leading to abnormal, uncontrolled cell division, when it interacts with three categories of external agents- Physical, Chemical and Biological carcinogens. The gene mutations you're born with and those that you acquire throughout your life, work together to cause cancer. Having an inherited genetic mutation only makes you more likely than other people to develop cancer when exposed to certain cancer causing substance.
