Allergy

Immunity is the ability to fight against harmful external influences, mainly pathogens. The immune system at birth is immature, hence the immunity to neonates are basically received from the antibodies through the breast milk. Immunity develops as one gets exposed to various external influences. In certain individuals the immune system becomes hypersensitive and hyper responsive to one or more stimuli which is called allergy.

Sinusitis

In allergy, the immune system is misguided to react to foreign substances which are harmless. Although allergies can develop at any age, the risk of developing allergies is genetic. It is related to ones family history of allergy. If neither parent is allergic, the chance for allergy is 15%. If one parent is allergic, the risk doubles to 30% and if both parents are allergic, the risk is more than 60%.
